1. Tell us about your nonprofit’s mission:
To educate the public on the service and sacrifice of the men of the 2nd Rhode Island Volunteers who served during the American Civil War and to ensure that their memory is never forgotten.
2. Is there a story behind your organization’s name?
Our organization is named after the unit that we portray, the Company B of the 2nd Rhode Island Volunteer Infantry.
3. How long have you been operating in Rhode Island?
We have been active in Rhode Island since 2008
4. Where would we find your group?
Social media, our website, doing various community activities or events.
5. Is your group specific to Rhode Island?
No, we are based in both Rhode Island and New Jersey
6. What do you love about what you do?
Being able to carry on the memory of these brave men and tell their story. To be able to educate kids in a way that they won’t get in a text book and seeing them make memories that will last a long time.
7. How do you fundraise for your activities? We march in local parades such as Gaspee Days in Warwick and Autumnfest in Woonsocket.

If a reader is interested in learning more, reach out to us on social media. We are also always looking to share the stories of these men in our local schools so any history teachers who might be interested in having a presentation on the common Union civil war soldier please reach out to us we would love to help out.
9. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
That history is in our backyard. There are so many things in our communities of historic significance that get overlooked everyday, but they tell the story of who we are and how we got here.

I hope that people take the time to learn about the sacrifices of those who came before them, sacrifices that helped to shape our communities as we see them today.
