Dining ~ LaSalle Bakery ~ Providence

 LaSalle Bakery
993 Smith St.
Providence, RI 0290

The first cannoli marked off my list of ten cannoli to try in Rhode Island came from LaSalle Bakery.

If you live in and around Providence, you've heard of LaSalle. They've been around since the 1930s and in the Manni family since 1974. Cannoli are a staple at LaSalle, as Michael Manni explains in this video for Bake Magazine from 2013.

When I went in, the only cannoli they had was chocolate chip, which I like anyway. It was just as Manni described, a crisp shell, dominant taste of ricotta, not too sweet. It was a little bit overdusted with powdered sugar for me, but a quick shake solved that minor issue. Delicious, and recommended.
