1. Tell us about your nonprofit’s mission. 
We are committed to helping the most vulnerable at need children in the state of Rhode Island by providing opportunities and resources that they may otherwise not experience. 

2. Is there a story behind your organization’s name? 
A lot of conversation & thought went into our name: Jules (represents me) Hope (It's the main ingredient that we want to instill in each child) Chest (a special place to hold everything together...from items need to traditions) 

3. How long have you been operating in Rhode Island? 
As Jules Hope Chest 1 year but the Joseph Silva Memorial Toy Drive has been operating for 8 years this Christmas. 

4. Who would use your services? 
Any low-income, displaced, foster, or at need children and families throughout Rhode Island. 

5. How is the need specific to Rhode Island? 
Children in Rhode Island fall into all demographics and have areas facing poverty. We have a high rate of homelessness, children in foster care system and DCYF care. Covid-19 pandemic has added to the issues and increased need with families facing different hardships. 

6. What do you love about what you do? 
I love making a difference in a child life and helping instill hope. 

7. How do you fundraise for your activities? 
Fundraising has changed with the pandemic now we need to think outside the box, and incorporate social distance and or virtual components to reach donors. 

8. How can I {heart} Rhody readers help? 
Help is needed in many forms donations of in-kind or monetary, volunteers, and getting out the word to families in need that we are a resource available. 

9. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island? 
I heart the oceans surrounding us to provide tranquility and the community that comes together to do there best to make a difference. 

10. Please include anything else you’d like to add: 
We currently have a social distancing fundraiser called "You've Been Elf'd" and we are preparing for a Virtual Vendor Event (name & details to be released soon) and our Annual Memorial Christmas Toy Drive.
