1. Tell us about your work
I design and make beaded gem stone jewelry. Its something I can do at home. Its a computer store, I sell my jewelry over my Etsy Shop and on eBay.

2. Is there a story behind the name of your business?
The name of our business M & D Jewel Craft is: M for my Husband Muhammad, and D for Debra, that is me.

3. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/designer?
My Grandparents were in the jewelry business, E&A Jewelry, here in Providence Rhode. So I grew up learning about jewelry.

4. Where do you draw your inspiration?
I draw my inspiration from nature, and the natural beauty of unique gem stones.

5. What’s your favorite item to create?
While beading jewelry, I like to make a complete set of jewelry, the necklace, the earrings, and bracelet. Each set is a little different than each other.

6. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
I have been a Rhode Islander all my life.

7. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
I love Rhode Island, the Ocean State, and whenever we have visitors, we take them to the ocean.

8. Please include anything else you’d like to add:
I string pearls also, all my jewelry is made in Rhode Island.
