1. Tell us about your work
I generally paint nature and animals, mostly contemporary realism, sometimes illustrative and whimsical. Most of my paintings are offered as blank greeting cards.

2. Is there a story behind the name of your business?
The name of my site comes from my childhood nickname, Lolo. When I had a studio/gallery in CA that was the name (Studio Lolo.) It was a magical place!

3. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/designer?
I became professional after being on Etsy for a few years, although I did sell many paintings out of my California studio.

4. Where do you draw your inspiration?
Most of my inspiration comes from nature and animals, but often from my crazy imagination. My women and spirit animals is a good example. ( Channeling Spirit and Embracing Hope.)

5. What’s your favorite item to create?
I don't think I have a favorite item to create. I do love it when what's in my brain transfers to the canvas though.

6. What’s your best seller?
My best selling card seems to be the one with the flying pig. Cats are very popular as well. I have many that have been favorited.

7. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
My husband was born and raised in Rhode Island. We moved here when we were married thirty years ago but we left and stayed in CA for 16 years. We both missed RI and came back home nine years ago! I'm originally from Canada but grew up in MA.

8. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
I love many things Rhody! I love the small size, being surrounded ( virtually) by water and I love the artsyness of this small, New England state.

9. Favorite place to take out-of-towners?
It depends on who visits, but if I have artsy friends come over I take them to the east side of Providence or to Wickford. I also love taking them to Little Compton for lunch and showing them the quaintness and beauty there.

10. Any advice for new/wannabe makers?
The only advice I have for others is follow your passion. You can't go wrong. And always keep your goal in mind but don't worry how you get there. If you SEE the end result you will get there. I'm still working on that ;)

11. Please include anything else you’d like to add:
I'm also a published children's book author of two best-selling books called "I Love My Mommy Because..." and "I Love My Daddy Because..." Although I didn't get to illustrate them 26 years ago, I'm proud of their longevity and success. Ashley Wolff did a wonderful job with the illustrations. She had "a name" back then and I did not.
