1. Tell us about your work.
I'm a rhode island photographer, woodworker, and prop maker. My specialties are save the dates with a nerd flair and leatherworking and expect to add photography prints to my shop in the future.
2. Is there a story behind the name of your business?
I work with wood, leather and metal and it just kind of came out of that.
3. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/designer?
I've always been crafty and grew up making furniture but my background is in technical theatre, so a lot of it comes out of that and the rest comes from my need to keep my hands busy with some kind of project.
4. Where do you draw your inspiration?
A lot of whats around me, I love hiking and I try to remind myself to take a breath and slow down each day to take a minute and really take in the moments that are around you.
5. What’s your favorite item to create?
I make Captain America shields. I mean I love wood working and making a table or something but there's something awesome about hefting a metal shield and seeing it catch the light, it's great
6. What’s your best seller?
My save the dates, without a doubt. Which is great because the Doctor Who save the date I made for my own wedding and just kept going from there.
7. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
6 years
8. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
All the shoreline, there's always some new nook or cranny to find, and of course there's also the food.
9. Favorite place to take out-of-towners?
I've got a couple of crab shacks I love, but I'll almost always drag people down to Point Judith.
10. Any advice for new/wannabe makers?
Stick with it, learn how to promote yourself, find your niche.
11. Please include anything else you’d like to add:
A lot of my photography (which is a lot of rhode Island nature and life) can be seen on my instagram.
