1. Tell us about your work
I've always loved working with my hands. Over the years I've tried a lot of different crafts. In the last 15 years, I've been making one of a kind jewelry pieces and more recently started creating "jewelry" and accessories for the home and car.

2. Is there a story behind the name of your business?
My shop name, Kissed by the Sun, and the pieces I make, were born from my love of summer. Hot days and beautiful gardens inspire me to create light, airy, colorful pieces.

3. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/designer?
My mother, sister and I used to sell our various crafts at craft shows together. While we had a lot of fun, it was time consuming and not very profitable.

I still enjoy craft shows from time to time, but venues like Etsy make it easy to sell your crafts and allow you to create and sell in a time frame that fits your schedule.

4. Where do you draw your inspiration?
The beautiful colors of summer gardens.

5. What’s your favorite item to create?
My crystal sun catchers, rear view mirror ornaments and flip flop magnets. They add wonderful color and shimmer to your home and car.

6. What’s your best seller?
The sun catchers and rear view mirror ornaments. I get a lot of fantastic feed back on these.

7. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
30 years

8. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
The beaches. I love to sit and relax enjoying the sun, swim and walk the beaches collecting sea glass and shells. Oh, and the wonderful sea food that RI has to offer.

9. Favorite place to take out-of-towners?
Misquamicut beach. We always have a wonderful time.

10. Any advice for new/wannabe makers?
Draw your inspiration from something you love and your pieces will reflect that. Enjoy what you do.
