1. Tell us about your work
its a mad mix ... .one day its all about colour the next day its all about neutrals .. my studio is in a state of constant disaster
2. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter/designer?
I grew up in England and my Dad was a fabric printer, he would bring home scraps for me to use .
I have always been creative .. even as a kid I made things from found items I was happy to just sit and fiddle about with bits and bobs until I made something .. I stared selling my designs in Boston on a pushcart and I guess it just went from there
3. Where do you draw your inspiration?
hard one ... my head is full
4. What’s your favorite item to create?
I love to create new fabric from scraps that most people would throw out ( I'm a fabric hoarder yikes I said it ) creating yardage from scrap is like meditation for me, also if I can look at some piece of junk and see what it can be then its my favorite ... I found a sofa at the flea market and stripped it down to the bare wood recovered it, and it was amazing ...so right now I'm on the hunt for a similar style sofa to redo
5. What’s your best seller?
as I make a lot of pillow covers just by number they sell the most
6. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
over 20 years
7. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
all of it ... the ocean right on our door step should never be taken for granted
I am proud to say I live here
8. Anything else you'd like to add?
I am working on having a home based studio shop ... where customers can come shop and have a cup of tea ....We (that means Mike ) will be attempting to make it using old reclaimed windows sort of like a green house ... I plan to use it as a studio gallery space and maybe grow some veggies too ...all we have to do now is find enough windows
