A little treasure in Olneyville.
I have 20 minutes of transfer time between the two buses that take me to and from work. It's a good opportunity to try out one of the businesses at Olneyville Square. Ducking into La Lupita was definitely a plus.
The interior looked clean and well-kept. The staff was friendly and helped me figure out what to try. I ordered a couple of quesedillas, one with chicken, and a chicken burrito. They were made fresh, so I poked around the place while I waited.
There's a small grocery area with Mexican products. I'm not familiar with them, but they must be a taste of home for the Mexican families in the neighborhood.
A small, kind of cafeteria-like dining area is a nice spot to enjoy a meal if you want to stay.
I have to admit, I'm not an expert on Mexican cuisine. I like it, but have no way of telling what's authentic and what isn't. Yelp! reviewers assure us that the food is very authentic.
Nevertheless, Bear and I shared the quesedillas and burrito. I thought they were very good, and they traveled the 20 minute bus ride pretty well. The chicken in the burrito had a bit more heat than I like, but I'm a spice lightweight.
We liked it well enough that I got the same meal again a few days later. We can definitely recommend La Lupita
