1. Tell us about your work
My first business cards for Stoney Charms had my name followed by "M.O.S.T." I connect with my work, which is composed of metal and beautiful stones, in that way. I am a "Maker Of Small Things." The world shrinks and expands when I put my visor on and hold the materials with which I hope to create.
2. How did you come to be a professional artist/crafter?
I think it was Edmund Wilson, a writer, who replied to the question best. He said there was nothing else he could do. (Or words to that effect. Can't find the exact quote!) I've always made stuff.
3. Where do you draw your inspiration?
I'm not exactly sure. Though I would say walking has always helped me solve problems.
4. What’s your favorite item to make?
Not an item specifically, but I love carving. So the cast items I make are always particularly fun. But honestly, the item I have yet to make is always the one that will be the favorite. ;)
5. What’s your best seller?
My Tree pendant, but the Fishie-poo ring may surplant it!
6. How long have you been in Rhode Island?
I moved to Rhode Island in July of 2001, the year of September 11th. I knew no one here at that time, but have always found it to be a comfortable place to live.
7. What do you {heart} about Rhode Island?
It is a beautiful state. I'd say being near the water, lots of jewelry people here, and it's a nice place to work.
